Build: West resembles her spaniel heritage more, with silky fur and drooping ears and shorter legs. Her ribs are mostly hidden by her fur which lays flat against her sides and is longest on her tail, chest and ears. She has a subtle sable marking on her back and ends of her ears and a pale gradient on the top of her muzzle.

Born to sickly parents, West didn't have the best start in life. The pup was born to crossbreed parents in the rougher part of town, weeds filled the yard and cracked concrete adorned the sidewalks. She was the result of an irresponsible home breeding, who her mother gave birth to her, Salem and some stillborn siblings. It was clear from an early age that West loved to explore her surroundings and wander off from the safety and comfort of the bed, having a terrible case of wanderlust, and so Salem adopted the role of protector during her ventures. The two were glued at the hip, for better or worse. They grew, and the first few months were bliss. Then, tragedy struck. Their mother turned very sickly and soon died, leaving the two with their father. He was overcome with grief for his mate and blamed the pups so he ran away, never to be seen again. West took it hard, her grief fueling her then minor depression which hadn't been an issue before, but now it was worsened. So to cope, she left her home more often, keeping herself busy on the streets and out of that house of boredom and sadness. Salem grew worried of her more frequent ventures, sometimes having to drag her back home at the end of the day. Their owners took notice of the twos disappearances and started preventing them from going outside, not wanting to lose them too. West circled inside when she couldnt leave, her thoughts beginning to overtake her. Salem, eager to help his sister ventured into the woods to help her find an escape of sorts. He ended up finding River, a slightly older hound. West and River met and the three became fast friends, spending whatever time they could with her. Until one day, West came back caked in mud and debris, pushing her owners to trap them inside indefinitely. West tried to get out but couldn't so she went back to pacing and her thoughts drifted to depressive tones. She grew distant, losing her appetite and energy and was turning into a shell of a creature. Salem in a desperate move, escaped with West and onto the streets. Living life on the streets was better to life in a prison. Even though they were free now, life wasn't exactly easier. The strangers were cruel, kicking them and some kids even throwing fireworks at them as a joke. This went on for a while, until finally a nice couple picked them up off the streets. They fed them and played (though it was a bit rough) and the two grew to be healthy. West was allowed to freely explore the barn where they were kept and she liked the place. So when some other people brought another dog, she happily went with her new owners to meet the newcomer. Even though she had her new owners and Salem to keep her company, it would be nice to meet another dog. But what she didn't expect was bloodshed.

They made it to the forest, Salem limping and Wiseria helping him hobble away. Once they were far enough away, West set to trying to heal Salem in whatever way she could. They managed to scrape by, if you could even call it that, with the occasional berries or rare bug. They lost weight and things were looking grim until they stumbled upon River, who gave them a home. A home with the Fellowship.
